Unfortunate callut we had involving a female juvanile piolt whale…..such a beautiful creature – such a sad ending – no one’s 100% sure why she beached herself despite what some say – she was small in size for her age and there wasnt a ot that we could do except to keep her comfortable until the Vet on scene could the sad job of putting her to peace!

Falmouth Coastguard Rescue Team - "Semper Paratus"

16/04/13 @ 05:30 Falmouth CRT were pre tasked to attend Castle Beach at low tide in order to support Cory Environmental, British Divers Marine Life Rescue and vet to provide water safety and assistant with the removal of the pilot whale that had come ashore on the 15/04/13.
On scene carried out duties and removed whale before RTB at 08:00, and CRO’s returning to there day jobs and back on call via the pager.
